The emotional leader works intelligently with emotion, considering it a vital element of their leadership and the development leadership within others. They are emotionally literate, able to label the full spectrum of emotion, they understand the difference between emotion and feelings and actively invite them all into the leadership with respect and proportion.

Recognising all that it is to be human, the emotional leader has depth of knowledge around the impact of emotion on our thinking patterns and our physical bodies. In themselves, they remain emotionally open, empathetic and compassionate, yet are able to support others because they can maintain a healthy detachment.

About this module

Leadership isn’t just about thinking. It is about feeling, sensing and relating to others in a deeply human way. While some refer to emotional intelligence, here at the natural leader we prefer the term ‘intelligent emotion.’ This module that creates a very safe space from the beginning of the day.

Participants will explore the role of emotion in leadership, how emotion enhances and detracts from performance and invites leaders to work with the full spectrum of emotion to build their confidence and comfort in becoming intelligence in the use of emotions in their leadership.
